NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim that 140 crore Indians are his family during a public event in Telangana on Monday sparked a big ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ campaign by prominent BJP leaders. This was perceived as a significant rebuttal to Lalu Prasad’s comment that “Modi has no family” during his party’s Patna rally.

A day after RJD head Lalu Prasad made fun of him for not having a family, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, and other politicians retaliated against the opposition by adding ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ to their names on social media pages.

Lalu had poked fun of Modi for his anti-n nepotism campaign during an INDIA bloc rally. Tackled the RJD chief, “He has no family,” in front of influential members of Congress and the Left.
With the addition of “Main Bhi Chowkidar” to their names to take on Congress leader Manishankar Aiyer’s “Chowkidar Chor Hai” jab at Modi and the “chai par charcha” response to Aiyar’s “chaiwala” sneer at Modi in the previous election, the BJP’s show of support for its top leader in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections was reminiscent of a similar campaign the party had launched prior to the 2019 general elections.

With the BJP under Modi winning more seats in 2019 than in 2014, the Congress’s attempts to attack the PM over alleged corruption in the Rafale fighter aircraft deal failed. Instead, the campaigns centered around the PM’s perceived honesty and anti-corruption leadership proved to be a huge success.

In addition to the many other party officials who joined the campaign on Monday, BJP chief ministers were among the top leaders of the party. Numerous social media users who support Modi have made the same alteration to their pages.
BJP spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed during a news conference that Modi has been the target of personal assaults from other parties for the past 16–17 years.
“In that sequence, Lalu Prasad once again made such insignificant statements against the PM in front of INDI alliance leaders yesterday (Sunday) at a rally in Patna. This is terrible and depressing,” Trivedi said to reporters.
“Lalu was talking about Modi’s family. The BJP representative remarked, “I want to remind him that, for PM Modi, the entire country is his family,” and that the populace will respond appropriately to the “political arrogance” of the opposition parties.
Modi, who views the entire nation as his family, departed his home long ago, according to Trivedi, determined to work for society and bring India to its pinnacle of success.

“He never gets tired because of this. Nobody experiences tiredness when providing for their family. For this reason, in the past ten years, Prime Minister Modi has not taken a single day off,” he said.
The prime minister has been claiming that all of India is his family. He reiterated this claim on Monday during a rally in Adilabad, Telangana, saying that all 140 crore Indians are his family.
Yadav questioned why the Prime Minister doesn’t have a family and criticized Modi for bringing up the subject of dynastic politics during his speech at an INDIA bloc gathering in Patna on Sunday.
Inquiring about the RJD leader’s knowledge of Hinduism, Trivedi remarked, “There is a guru-shishya tradition in India, not father-son tradition.”
