NEW DELHI : Rahul Gandhi was the target of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s ongoing assaults on Thursday, in which he called the Congressman a “darpok” (a coward) and said that he wanted to destabilize the state. Himanta accused the Congress of adopting “soft Naxalite” policies as well. The chief minister of Assam said that Rahul Gandhi’s Nyay Yatra was in the state during the dedication of the Ram temple as part of a political plot to incite tensions amongst the state’s various communities.

“What Yatra was this one? Examine the timing of it. They had devised a plot to provoke a significant intercommunal conflict in Assam. In Guwahati, we got a peek of it. However, their main plot was passing through Assam during the Pranpratishtha Ram Temple, which led to violence in the state. However, the members of our party and the Ram Bhakts exercised self control. They prevented any undesirable event from occurring in Assam “Himanta said.

Rahul Gandhi and Himanta Sarma have been publicly criticizing one another in a vicious verbal spat.

Rahul will be imprisoned following the Lok Sabha elections, according to Himanta, for inciting the mob during the party’s altercation with police earlier this week outside of Guwahati. Rahul’s yatra was denied entry into Guwahati by the state administration, which resulted in altercations between Congressmen and police. Afterwards, Rahul and other Congress leaders became the subject of a formal complaint (FIR) filed on Himanta Sarma’s directives. The Chief Minister of Assam has also established a SIT to carry out inquiries.

The chief minister accused Rahul of attempting to destabilize the state in reference to the event. “Had he loved Assam, he might have paid his respects to Bhupen Hazarika at Bhupen Hazarika Samaadhi Khetra. He may have also spent a brief time at the Kamakhya temple if he had adhered to Hindu Dharma. Destabilizing Assam was the primary goal, according to Sarma.

‘Rahul a darpok’

Himanta also took a dig at Rahul and stated he fled the scene in a vehicle as fights broke out between the Congress workers and police. “Rahul Gandhi (who is on a Bus Yatra) quietly came out of his fancy bus and fled the city in a small car to Hajo, his next destination,” Sarma wrote in a post on X. “Rahul has set a new standard for being a Darpok,” he said.

“Just crowded areas for minorities”Rahul Gandhi’s yatra, according to Himanta Biswa Sarma, only drew large audiences in Assamese communities with a Muslim population. Two pictures of Gandhi aboard a bus were shared by him. One picture was titled “Hindu majority area (inside the vehicle),” while the second one read “Muslim Majority area (atop the vehicle).” The Bharat Bus Yatra is summed up here.
The chief minister of Assam also asserted that during Rahul’s yatra, Muslim ladies were not present in the audience. “I am very happy about only one thing, mother and sisters in Muslim majority areas did not join this Yatra,” he stated.

“Most corrupt chief minister, led remotely by Modi and Shah”Rahul Gandhi has been attacking Himanta Biswa Sarma mercilessly, referring to him as the nation’s most dishonest chief minister on several occasions. Rahul has also charged Himanta Sarma of following orders from Delhi to appease Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his yatra rallies. Rahul has stated at many Assamese rallies that “PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have the remote control of Sarma, who will be thrown out instantly if he speaks anything for the benefit of Assam.”

“Firmly file FIRS; the yatra will continue.”Congress Lok Sabha member Gaurav Gogoi stated on Thursday that although the Assam chief minister may continue to file formal complaints against Rahul Gandhi, the historic party would carry on its Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in an effort to bring the nation together.
The Congress MP from Kaliabor in Assam stated that Sarma is the “most corrupt” chief minister, which is to be anticipated.
As long as the Assam government keeps submitting FIRs, we’ll carry on with our Yatra. Gogoi stated, “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will continue to unite the country through religion and language division, which Bharatiya Janata Party should keep doing.”
