Bigg Boss 17 winner According to a police officer on Wednesday, Munawar Faruqui and thirteen other people were taken into custody during a raid at a hookah establishment in Mumbai’s Fort neighborhood. All of the accused were eventually freed since the charges brought against them might be waived.

The officer said that the operation lasted till five in the morning on Wednesday. The raid was carried out by the Mumbai Police’s Social Service section around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at a hookah parlor in Bora Bazar.

“At the joint, the cops discovered hookah smokers Munawar Faruqui, a stand-up comedian, and other individuals. We have a video of their performance too. We arrested them, but because the charges against them might be released on bond, they were eventually released,” a senior officer told PTI.

According to him, the raid was conducted after authorities were tipped off that some customers were passing off tobacco-based hookahs at the parlor as herbal hookahs.

Faruqui and his accomplice have been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 283 (risk or obstruction in public way or line of navigation) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), as well as the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).
