Stone discussed the wardrobe incident that almost overshadowed her victory speech during the ceremony. Stone won the lead actress Oscar for her performance as the puckish Bella Baxter in “Poor Things.”

She nervously said, “My dress is broken,” just before going on stage at the Dolby Theatre. Presenter Jessica Lange also made an effort to assist Stone in covering the back seam of her handmade Louis Vuitton gown as she mounted the steps. After hugging friend Jennifer Lawrence and accepting the medal from Michelle Yeoh, the overcome Stone began her speech by addressing the disastrous outfit.

“I believe it occurred during ‘I’m Just Ken,'” she remarked, glancing at her “La La Land” co-star Ryan Gosling in the crowd. “My dress is broken,” she added. “Barbie’s” At the event, Stone joined Gosling in singing the Oscar-nominated song, which was performed by Ken. Gosling’s performance was quite energetic.

Stone reaffirmed her stance in the press room when reporters asked to see her peplum-waisted column gown.

“They stitched me back in,” she said with joy. “It was amazing how they sewed me back in right when I returned to the stage.”

“I really believe that I nailed it during ‘I’m Just Ken,'” she continued. That figure really blew my mind, and I was in complete awe of Ryan and what he was accomplishing. And there I was, just going for it, but you know, things do happen.

She did not go into additional detail about the wardrobe malfunction, and when The Times asked for an explanation on Monday, LVMH, the com

pany that owns Louis Vuitton, did not immediately reply. (Stone finally removed the dress for the Vanity Fair party following the show, wearing a sheer high-low gown also by Louis Vuitton.)

The startled celebrity told reporters that she was surprised by her victory in the competition for “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which she had been in a dead heat with fellow nominee Lily Gladstone. Although Stone acknowledged her daughter during the ceremony and spoke about the collaborative power of film, she claimed to have “blacked out” on stage. Best Picture winner Emma Thomas, who shared the top prize with husband and producing partner Christopher Nolan for “Oppenheimer,” later

made reference to Stone’s remarks.

Stone talked about the lessons she took away from her role as Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ costume drama, which took home three more Oscars: for production design, makeup and hairstyling, and costume design.

The 35-year-old stated, “She is a character that is so, so important to me.” “The opportunity to play a person starting from scratch but in a completely metaphorical, can’t really happen in real life way,” was praised by her. “Gathering language and skills at a rapid pace every day and getting to sort of chart that course and realize that she was just full of joy and curiosity and true love,” claimed Stone, who played the role.

“I learned an incredible lesson from that,” she remarked. We finished filming a long time ago, so I’ve been missing playing her a lot. About two and a half years ago. I’m really happy that we were able to celebrate the movie tonight since I truly miss Bella.

That evening, the Oscar winner for “La La Land” garnered media attention due to her response to missing the ceremony honoring the staff members of the movie who had won three technical honors.

Times journalist Amy Kaufman tweeted, “Earlier in the lobby, I saw Emma Stone talking with [co-star] Mark Ruffalo’s wife Sunrise Coigney.” “During their restroom break, they watched on the monitors as ‘Poor Things’ won craft honors. Stone declared, “We missed all of the awards we’re going to win.” “S—— We f— suck.”
